Ok, so you over-shopped and got a gazillion rolls of toilet paper. Not judging. But as you use them up, here are some clever uses for the empty tubes that were left, er... "behind." :)

This is a Facebook link, so I think you'll need to view it through that. But some of these are really creative and fun.

I see that you have more time on your hands now that you are retired ;)

Actually, we used these a lot when I was a girl scout leader. I particularly remember the peanut butter/seed bird feeder.

HAHAHA! I wish it was that easy. I blame my FB friends. That's where I saw this. One friend is really, REALLY crafty. It's her fault. :)

I wanted to share it here because I know some Tuggers are similarly interested - and are probably really bored right now. :D

Last year a woman in subdivision asked everyone to save toilet paper tubes for party favors for Christmas party. I think she got about five hundred and had to yell to stop

Consumption of some products seems to keep happening, no matter what, right? :)

DaveNW, I agree you need something to do. You have to much time on your plate.
You need a Honey Dew List. LOL.

Oh, I have one, trust me. A very long one. But until the weather here breaks and stays decent, I'm still in "hunker down" mode. Too much rain and cold wind to do otherwise. :)

Thank you very much. Your Fan Club member gift will be in the mail soon. It might be made from a TP tube... :D

Dave

P.S. For those who haven't figured it out: I'm a seriously optimistic guy, a confirmed cheerleader, and someone who will always look for the good in others. I'm very much like the kid who's standing rear-end deep in horse manure in the barn, shoveling like crazy, who yells, "There MUST be a pony in here somewhere!" :D

Please stay positive. Please enjoy your retirement.
Now if I could learn how to type, spell and proofread. I would be your #2

Hmmm - I like the seed starters, but I would not want to use a toilet paper tube for anything related to food. During it's normal lifetime, it's located too close to the toilet, and the hands that touch it may not be particularly clean at the moment.

Suggestion you, can use the long paper towel tube for items related to food.

I predict empty TP tubes will soon be a thing of the past. From what I have heard, at least one TP manufacturer is now producing rolls of TP without the cardboard tube in the middle.

Such a waste of cardboard if it's not really needed,...... Also, less to have to recycle.

Likely to be cheaper to produce using this method but I doubt the savings will be passed on to consumers.

Who, me? Nah, never been there. Much. :ROFLMAO:

Truth is, I'm married to the Costco Mob. I just ask a lot of questions. ;)

I've seen that, often in public restrooms. It's clumsy and gets all out of alignment as the roll is used. Kind of unravels. Seems like a lot of the roll would end up being wasted. It looks like a regular roll that some has yanked the tube out of. Might be other designs that work better, but if so, I haven't seen them.
