I would not mind bringing an extra suitcase of ladies summer clothing when we are in Cancun in a couple of months. Does anyone know where I could take this in order for it to be put to good use? Would anyone at the Royals help me with this? Thanks.

If you don't get a better response than this one, let me know which wee(s) you will be there.
I have a friend who lives in Cancun (Mexican) and she will gladly disperse the clothing for you.

The Royals are very charitably-minded and have helped with hurricane relief in Yucatan. They will know where to donate the clothing.

Carolyn, I was just at the Royal Islander last month. I brought down two extra suitcases of children's clothing. The manager at the Islander was happy to accept the clothing and donated it the housekeeping staff.

We give them to the maid

We have often given clothing my son outgrew or games that we don't want anymore to the maid. They have never been insulted and only ask that we write a letter explaining that we have given them to her, along with any leftover food or soda we don't wish to bring through customs with us.

These would mostly be ladies clothes. Of course I would only take spring/summer types of clothing. Do you think there is a need for these? Thanks.

What a wonderful idea. Thanks for posting your intentions.

We are going to Cancun in March. I often donate locally here, but never thought to take extra items with us for leisure travel. Of course the people need these things and will appreciate good quality clothing, just as many people here do. Plus, some of my good friends make it a habit of shopping second hand clothing stores because they know that they will often find good quality, slightly used clothing.

I also like the suggestion of giving the maid a note. Otherwise, she might be accused of stealing, something that could cost her dearly even resulting in a loss of a job.

Great TUG tips!
