Anyone has experience with 'Donate for A Cause'.
I tried to donate my timeshare after trying to give it away in TUG and RedWeek. The organization is charging $2,499 for donation plus prepaid maintenance fee for 2012.

They do guaranteed to get your timeshare off your name.

The "search" function is your friend...

They do guarantee to get your timeshare off your name.

If you go to the top of this page and find / click on the word "search" in the blue bar, you can then next enter the company name and promptly retrieve dozens and dozens of subject posts.

The short version is that yes, they will put the deed in their own name after you pay them their cited fee (...and now, in a relatively new development, apparently an additional years' worth of maintenance fees as well). With your money in hand, DFAC will then peddle the timeshare on ebay for a buck.

Only you can decide whether ponying up this kind of money is a wise and prudent course of action. IMHO, if DFAC is going to whack you for 2012 maintenance fees anyhow, why not skip DFAC (for now), pay those 2012 fees to the resort yourself, and have most of a year to try to give it away. Even if you have to pay all of closing costs yourself to make it more attractive, you'd still be mathematically way ahead (vs. paying DFAC thousands). If all else fails, the DFAC option (and costs) will always still be there to utilize later.

Did your other offers to give it away...

Did your other offers to give it away include your paying 2012 MF's? If not, that is an added plus to the suggestion not to pay DFAC and rather pay the fees and try to give it away with the 2012 years usage as an added bonus/incentive.

Good luck!
