DETAILS OF PARTICIPATION
Allocation of Member Appreciation Points:
Member Appreciation Points will be applied to your account on January 26, 2021. The number of Member Appreciation Points you are eligible to receive will be based on the points available within your membership in The Club® as of December 31, 2020. Member Appreciation Points will not be allocated unless the following criteria are met:
- All Club Dues and Association Fees assessed for 2021 must be paid in full by the due date on your invoice (either one annual payment, or if you are participating in the Monthly Payment Program, your monthly payments).
- If applicable, your loan(s) must be current.
There are two ways you can use your Member Appreciation Points:
- Use your points for a stay at any of the participating Diamond Resorts destinations.
- Choose to deposit your points as a Tier Credit for use up to 5 years from the date of deposit with Destination Xchange®.
If you are using your Member Appreciation Points at a participating Diamond Resorts destination, the following guidelines apply:
- Only the Primary Member can use Member Appreciation Points. Associate Members and guests of members are ineligible.
- Member Appreciation stays may be reserved up to 245 days prior to the requested check-in date.
- Member Appreciation stays are available only at participating Diamond Resorts properties. All participating locations are subject to change.
- The number of points required for any particular vacation will depend on the specific resort, time of year, accommodation size and length of stay.
- All reservation requests are subject to availability, as reservations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Member Appreciation Points cannot be combined or used in conjunction with your points in The Club.
If you deposit your Member Appreciation Points through Destination Xchange, the following guidelines apply:
- If you deposit your points as a Tier Credit through Destination Xchange, the points will be valid for up to 5 years.
- The Standard Exchange Fee and any applicable Vacation Enhancement Fees will be payable when redeeming your Tier Credit for an exchange reservation.
- Each Tier Credit is only valid for one reservation. Tier Credits cannot be combined or used in conjunction with your points in The Club.
How Allocation of Member Appreciation Points Works:
If you had less 15,000 points remaining as of December 31, 2020, your points will be allocated and administered to a separate account from your membership in The Club. These points will be allotted on January 26, 2021, and will be available for use through December 31, 2023, after you have completed the requirement of paying your 2021 annual Maintenance Fees (or your January installment for those on the Monthly Payment Program) and, if applicable, you are current on your loan.
If you had more than 15,000 points remaining in your account as of December 31, 2020, your points will be spread evenly over 3 years after you have completed the requirement of paying your 2021 annual Maintenance Fees (or your January installment for those on the Monthly Payment Program) and, if applicable, you are current on your loan. The points will expire in the year in which they were allotted to. Example: If you had 18,000 points remaining in 2020 as of December 31, 2020:
6,000 points will be allotted to 2021
These points will expire December 31, 2021
6,000 points will be allotted in 2022
These points will expire December 31, 2022
6,000 points will be allotted in 2023
These points will expire December 31, 2023
To further extend the life of your points, you have the option to deposit your points as a Tier Credit with Destination Xchange, which will allow you to utilize your points for up to 5 years. Please see the below Tier Credit Points Chart:
Tier 1 - 2,000 points
Tier 2 - 4,000 points
Tier 3 - 6,000 points
Tier 4 - 8,000 points
Tier 5 - 10,000 points
Tier 6 - 12,000 points
Diamond Flexibility and Diamond Value:
If you need more points to complete a stay or a Destination Xchange Tier Credit deposit, you can take advantage of having the option to purchase one-time use points to be applied towards a reservation. Under Diamond Flexibility, you can purchase additional points at $0.36 per point. Under Diamond Value, you can purchase additional points at $0.13 per point if the reservation is made 14 days or less prior to the arrival date. If you subsequently cancel the reservation, the cost paid for Diamond Flexibility or Value will not be refunded, and the points purchased will be forfeited.
Cancellations:
Depending on the notification period, cancellation of a reservation using Member Appreciation Points will mean a loss of points calculated as a percentage of the points used.
Notification of cancellation percentage loss of points:
- 91–245 days prior to arrival date - 0%
- 61–90 days prior to arrival date - 25%
- 31–60 days prior to arrival date - 50%
- 0–30 days prior to arrival date - 100%
Destination Xchange Reservation Cancellation Policy:
You can cancel an exchange within 24 hours of booking without penalty. After 24 hours of booking, cancellation will lead to forfeiture of the points/Tier Credit used for your reservation.
If you need to cancel a confirmed reservation, contact Member Services as soon as possible, or cancel online in the Member Area under My Reservations > Confirmed Reservations.
Members are encouraged to purchase a Single Stay Reservation Protection Plan (RPP) at the time of booking. This will ensure 100% reimbursement of the points charged for the booking should they need to cancel for any reason up to 31 days prior to arrival. An existing Annual Reservation Protection Plan may applied to reservations made using Member Appreciation Points.
Check-In:
If you are not intending to check-in at the resort on the originally booked date of arrival, or your plans change and you are unable to arrive as previously scheduled, you must contact the resort Front Desk/Reception 24 hours prior to the original arrival date and advise when you will be arriving. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking and the possibility that there may be no availability when arriving. If you do not cancel a reservation and do not use the reservation, then you forfeit the points used for that booking, and may be charged a no-show fee.
Additional Limitations:
Member Appreciation Points and Destination Exchange Tier Credits are administered separately and apart from your membership in The Club, and are solely intended for use for reservation purposes as previously described. Member Appreciation Points cannot be combined or used in conjunction with your points in The Club.
Member Appreciation Points will not be used for the various member benefit and other redemption opportunities provided by The Club, including but not limited to points toward:
- Cruises
- Flights
- Hotels
- Cars
- Luxury Homes
- Club Affiliated Resort Accommodations
- Destination Xchange Resort Accommodations
Other Loyalty benefits administered by The Club not applicable when utilizing Member Appreciation Points:
- Loyalty Search Requests
- Loyalty Priority Check-in
- Loyalty In-resort Benefits
- Diamond Preference
- Complimentary Loyalty Upgrade
