I am new to having a non-corporate interval account for owned weeks so i am still learning nuances.

I have a Nov 2025 week that i have already deposited. I read i can still trade using that deposit for a year (or two) after Nov 2025. Will the trading power decline the longer i do not redeem the week? And if so, does it get worse after Nov 2025 for that deposited week?

TIA

No, it shouldn't. However the stuff that is out there could require more trading power over time. Also, units for next year or the year after could require more trade power too. This could make it look like your deposit is weaker when it never changed from when you first deposited it.

We are only with RCI but I do know that our floating week, which normally gets 26TPU if deposited as soon as we pay the maintenance fees, will only get us 20 or even less if deposited just a few months or weeks before the date we chose. We found out early on that when we asked the resort to deposit our week (how they said we had to do it) they would assign us a week at a low demand time, or a close date, and we didnt get as high of a trading power. After another owner advised me what was going on I always reserved a popular time (ie; Easter, almost a year in advance) that got the max and let on we were going to use it. After I got the confirmation, I deposited it with RCI on my own.

Inventory Control and Optimization Comparable Exchange for Weeks Ownership

Interval International continually monitors its exchange valuation processes, consumer demand
patterns, and members’ deposit and request behavior to ensure that exchange inventory is
optimized to match the right accommodations to the right member at the right time.

Our global exchange system operates on the basis of Comparable Exchange between the unit
being relinquished and the unit being confirmed. To accomplish this, Interval evaluates multiple
attributes of the inventory at the time of deposit to establish its initial value. We then
continually re-evaluate and recalibrate this value for as long as this inventory remains available.

The attributes considered in our valuation process include:

Supply and Demand
Unlike traditional hotels and resorts, Interval’s inventory supply is dynamic and highly
dependent upon member deposit activity. Deposit behavior is continually monitored and
current and historical supply curves are analyzed to identify possible shortages and
oversupplies. As changes in supply levels are projected, the value of the inventory within the
exchange system also changes. When an oversupply is projected, greater access to inventory
exists, and when potential shortages are identified, access naturally becomes more restricted.
These changes can occur at the resort, unit size, and occupancy date levels.

Quality, Facilities, and Overall Experience
Interval International takes great pride in being The Quality Vacation Exchange Network®, and
we strive to confirm exchanges into resorts that offer an overall guest experience similar to that
of our members’ respective home resorts. Interval uses a proprietary quality measuring tool
and ongoing guest feedback to establish an overall “quality” level that is then used to identify
potential similar exchange matches.

Unit Type and Private Sleeping Capacity
Interval also strives to match exchange requests to the unit-size/private sleeping capacity that
is similar to that of the unit being relinquished. A member’s access to specific unit types that
might be larger than the one they currently own varies based on Interval’s ongoing analysis of
supply and demand, as well as inventory valuation. For this reason, members who have
relinquished smaller unit types may be offered an opportunity to “upgrade” their exchange into
a larger unit type, such as a two-bedroom.

Recent research, including focus groups and surveys, revealed that many members accept unit-
size upgrades even in instances in which their actual travel party does not require it. This
finding, along with the fact that points-based members already relinquish more points when
receiving a larger unit, the trend toward shorter booking windows, and other factors,
influenced the introduction of the unit-size upgrade fee. This will assist with improved
inventory optimization and provide more opportunities for members with larger travel parties.

Lead Time to Initial Occupancy Date
Inventory that is made available to Interval’s exchange system further in advance is inherently
more valuable than inventory that is made available with shorter lead time. While additional
lead time provides greater opportunity for overall inventory utilization, inventory that is
deposited with minimal lead time represents less value to the system. For this reason, members
who deposit during the Flexchange window (currently 59 days or less prior to check-in date) are
limited to exchanging within Flexchange.

One significant advantage of Flexchange, however, is that exchange access is enhanced,
allowing members to confirm any available unit size and season. It is important to note that
comparability of quality matching is still maintained for members who are relinquishing high-
quality resort accommodations. During this period, the unit-size upgrade fee does not apply.

Interval is committed to providing comparable exchanges to members around the world. Our
inventory control and optimization processes are designed to create the greatest number of
exchange opportunities possible for members, while maintaining fairness across the system.

It is based on how early you deposit and then won’t drop after that. The earlier the better unless you are looking at a saturated market like Orlando.

The earlier the better probably still matters in Orlando.

Always better to be early. I just meant that some locations are more forgiving than others.

I haven't seen a drop in TP between depositing at 12 months ahead and 8 months ahead or particularly between using deposit first and request first.
There are so many variable factors relating to what you are depositing vs what you are requesting that there isn't a simple answer.
No doubt, if you are trying to punch significantly above the weight of your deposit: e.g 2 x unit size upgrade and/or low to high season, you are going to get more chances of a match if you deposit early vs leaving it.
I can get use out of the promotional Accom Certs for depositing so will wait to deposit to get them starting in the travel window I want to use them in, which can mean waiting several months. The up-side is I get into the window of availability I want for the AC and no apparent degradation in TP for the deposit. If I'm after something special with my deposit, I'll do a request first to try and avoid missing it while I'm waiting for the promo AC window that I want and then cancel that and deposit as I get to the AC window that I am after. It seems to work for how we travel s we avoid peak seasons and peak locations.
