Does RCI have sales staff?

I'm staying at a "non-chain" resort, Pono Kai, where a neighbour told me they went to a sales presentation from RCI selling Pono Kai.

I thought RCI was simply a trading broker. Do they own timeshares and/ or have sales staff? I'm assuming they were mislead by subcontracted salesperson.

RCI does not have any sales staff; they are only a trading company. It is definitely someone else that is actually selling the timeshare.

RCI does have sales staff but not to sell timeshares to individuals. RCI sales staff sells products to timeshare developers and HOA's.

Many people incorrectly walk out of presentations thinking that they were buying from RCI not just a resort affiliated with RCI as their exchange company.

Thanks for confirming. There's a post from a guy claiming to have 'bought a deed in RCI points' confused about being a resort owner and paying exchange and resort fees. Sales staff confuse people on purpose.
