Does one get Marriott Bonvoy elite night credits if one rents a Marriott timeshare from a 3rd party?

I wondered if Marriott would give me elite night credits for a stay if I rent a MVC
timeshare unit from a private individual? Thanks in advance for the information.

If you give them your Bonvoy number at check in you will.

Yep I’ve done it multiple times and usually before rental will ask that they call and change to my Bonvoy # or as the person above said, call myself one my name has been added to the reservation and add my #z

Just be sure to add it at check in and they are all yours

Most of my renters don’t give their number so I get all the nights and points. I only had one renter 9 months later wonder why they didn’t earn points. I ended up happily transferring the points to them. It’s a nice perk renting out but the renter is certainly entitled to the earnings.
