I am wanting to go to Italy with my points. I am trying to go somewhere specific near where my family lives and there are no properties by Hilton or through DEX. Because I am HGV The Club with HGV Max, RCI is apparently not available to me. I spoke to a Hilton Rep (he seemed confused himself) and said my membership can not book through RCI but I can use Interval International and he gave me the number. I am not able to see point values or anything until i become a member of Interval International - I think $89/year? How would someone know if it’s worth it if they can’t even see how far their points will get them?

I am a little confused by your post. Hilton trades in RCI and not II.

Okay that is what I thought too. But when I spoke to RCI they said my type of membership cannot book through RCI because I own in the trust and then I was transferred to a rep that handles my type of account and he also said I can’t trade with RCI because we already have Destination Exchange but that I can trade through Interval International if I pay for their membership and he gave me the number. I called them and she said I could get a membership if I want to see the point values.

Okay so excuse my ignorance because I just purchased last month and this is all incredibly confusing I am trying to learn it all. HGV The Club with HGV Max is the previous Diamond Resorts now owned by Hilton right? So that means I can trade with II?

Is there a code for this? I just signed up for one year and asked for specials. They did not offer any.

My DRI week, now HVC has always traded through II. I have let my II membership lapse since I am now using DEX, but like Chantel wrote above, II has offered a 3 year $99 membership. We traded once to Italy's Puglia region and enjoyed it very much.

Diamond trades with Interval.
Really? A whole lot of Diamond shows up in RCI, I guess I thought they traded with RCI. I'm especially surprised a new retail Max purchase would be II TBH from Hilton. Great, it's even more confusing than I thought. I don't think anyone buying retail is going to have a hope to understand what they actually bought ...

Maybe it was only for existing members(?)
am a member and I see no such thing available. How did you get it? Was it an email sent to you or just on your account? Was there a code?

I have an Interval account, what is the area you are interested in? I can at least look up if there are Interval affiliate resorts there.

If you join TUG there is a member that publishes the Interval resort directory.

I’m looking to see if there is anything available in the Lombardy region of Italy. I was able to see the resorts but since I am not a member, I don’t know how many points the resort costs. I am on the fence about joining II just to be disappointed because my search is very specific. I think the name of the property I saw was residence domaso or something like that.

I thought I did join tug, is there a paid account that gives me access to more?

No code. They received an email, or, went in the II site and saw it there on the home page. You can also call and ask for it.

Diamond Resorts have traded with Interval, and have resorts on RCI as well - but the corporate arrangement they have is with Interval. Call Interval directly to get a membership, in general, the number of points asked is less than for a similar stay in DEX.

I think Diamond member now must pay II directly for their membership.

So, I own with The Club with HGV Max. I get DEX for free, but apparently according to this discussion, I can join II and trade with my US Collection trust points? What are the fees with II?

I looked up that property, it's only available as a cash Getaway, not an exchange - see Note:. I don't think Interval will be any good for you staying in that area. It was the only resort in the area and I searched two years out with nothing available.

Located in a quaint fishing town, overlooking Lake Como and surrounded by mountains, the resort provides the perfect base for both an adventurous and relaxing vacation. The one- and two-bedroom apartments are bright, airy, and spacious, and each is elegantly furnished with tailor-made, wooden furniture. Outdoor activities in Domaso include hiking, biking, and sailing, or unwind at the on-site spa, home to a Turkish bath.

NOTE: The accommodations listed under this resort code are available for purchase through the Getaway program and generally will not be available for exchange.

Thanks so much for checking for me! It looks like I may have to convert my club points to honors points and stay in a hotel. It’s such a bad way to use points but I’m not sure I have any other options. I went ahead and became a Tug member. Can you tell me how I find where that one member posts the II inventory?

You still show as guest, once you pay the $15 fee and update to member you get access to the Sightings area where people post Interval and RCI units available. You can also request to be notified if something shows up you are interested in. You can also check tug2.net resort reviews with resort lists.
