Pentagon halts domestic travel for military due to coronavirus

The Pentagon announced Friday that members of the armed services, Defense Department civilian employees and their family members who are living on or serving at military properties can no longer travel domestically starting Monday, to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.

Wonder if they will close the commissaries for retires that don’t live on base? I was at a commissary yesterday and it was packed, long lines, shelves emptying.

The Ft. Myer commissary was so crowded last Thursday that I returned my things to the shelf and went back to work.

I work at a DOD agency and will be teleworking this week. We've had two confirmed cases so far. I expect there will be more.

This was going to be a bad weekend at the commissary anyway since Friday was payday.
