Do you have a picture that you got while travelling that has a nation or state flag in it?

Good thread, Fred! When I travel I like to take pictures of the flags from other countries. As I look back in my photos, I realize so many countries don't display their flags like we do in the USA. I see American flags all over the place. I spend 2 weeks in a foreign country, and don't see a single flag. USA!

I agree. As I was looking for a couple to post, I was looking at a lot of empty flag poles, especially overseas. Ironically some that I have were probably more accidental than "on purpose" with the flag(s).

Fred, I was going through my pictures looking for flags. Brought back a lot of memories. There is a lot more going on these pictures. Weird stuff too!
Take a close look at my San Juan, PR picture from post #18. Here's a close-up. These people were blowing horns and speaking in weird unintelligible tongues!:ponder:

Jose Marti Park in Ybor City (Tampa), FL. This little urban park is unique, in that it was dedicated to the Cuban freedom fighter Jose Marti (who once lived in Tampa) and then the land was deeded to the government of Cuba as a gift from the people of the City of Tampa in 1956. All these years its cared for by a non-profit organization in Tampa, since contact with Cuba was broken. Its said that technically you are in Cuba when you are in the park.

In looking for more photos to post this morning, I did see A LOT of Canadian flags throughout several of my trips there.

This is the genuine thing: The Star Spangled Banner flying over Fort McHenry, Baltimore, Maryland. Just where it was flying when Francis Scott Key wrote the Anthem!
