Do we have to attend the Owners' Update?

I'm reading here that the Harborside update is a total waste of time. We love what we own but have absolutely no desire to purchase new weeks, points or packages... so, can we just decline to meet the update people?

Of course. Harborside update is not an update but a buy another one now, “oh and by the way, remember what we sold you years ago? It’s outdated and crap. So everything I told you then about it being amazing didn’t turn out to be true, so listen to me now and buy this because it’s so much better than the crap you Over paid for”. That’s pretty much how the very last update I did sounded like.

I would only attend an update if there were major issues at play such as significant building or renovations or an issue that could result in a special assessment. But here the HOA is probably a better source.

I never turn down an owners update at Harborside. It's so expensive to dine there that I will gladly take the resort credit. I can say no to the offer.

We got ours at a firesale price when the original owner went into bankruptcy, so we didn't get any of those kinds of promises... but I take your point. It is usually 2 hours of time we could enjoy much more elsewhere... and the free bottle of rum and baseball hat (or whatever) is not enough incentive to spend precious vacay time there.

Yup! Their incentive is horrible!!! I remember when they were wearing pins that said ask me about free WiFi LOL. One day of crap WiFi for that high pressure sales update. I took the rum

We were offered $100 or some Bonvoy points. I don't remember how many, but any Bonvoy points offer below 100000 doesn't have much value, so we declined. We aren't interested in a pushy sales pitch and wouldn't buy from a developer again anyway.
