Ok, so my daughter will be at Disney for the Cheerleading Nationals. Staying at All Star. We will be booking Last Call. I have been told by Disney that we could park at Downtown Disney for free and take a shuttle to the All Star Resort to meet up with them and visit and ride with them to the parks.

Has anyone ever had experience with this before? It seems too easy for a non-Disney Resort guest to get onto their transportation and not pay for parking.

We have gone to Disney quite a few times and never had any problem parking at any resort or parking downtown and taking the bus.

They don't check for anything when you get on the bus. But we have gone to many resorts to eat or look around and never had any problems with parking for a few hours.

My suggestion would be to go straight to the all star resort to see her as long as you aren't parking overnight and I'm not even sure it's a problem then.

At least that's been my experience, maybe others have encountered a problem.

Disney park ticket holders are allowed to use all the Walt Disney transportation.

If a person was just going to do nothing but the parks (not visiting family like you are or eating at a Disney resort), catching a bus at Downtown Disney would be too time consuming for the parks (when you factor in what you pay for tickets you lose too much time riding a bus). The Downtown Disney buses don't go directly to the parks.

I think I would just drive to the All Stars to meet up with your family. Just tell the guard you're visiting family (which you are). When we stay on our DVC points, it's nothing to wait 30 minutes or longer for a bus at Downtown Disney. After they leave Downtown Disney they also stop at Typhoon Lagoon and then go to the resort - so you're talking about potentially over an hour to 2 hours waiting and riding a bus before you even get to the All Stars. Then comes the wait for a park bus once you get to the resort . . .

when you daughter checks in - she can get you an parking permit - ask her to do this.

you can get more than one parking permit per room.

so you only have to show your ID and tell him why - one time.

then it would be easier to meet your daughter at other places.

of course most of your trip will be a WWoS - right? for your daughter.
