not a good deal in my opinion
I have timeshares in rci and interval and always buy ones that can be listed with both for the most versatility. In my opinion this move is not an advantage to the disney owners....which is what disney is saying to their owners. If they were interested in that they would have simply ADDED rci instead of replacing interval with rci. Now their owners have no access to the marriotts or the hyatts, etc. In addition, if you are familiar with the rci policy on their most popular resorts...they restrict your ability to trade for them by limiting your ability to request it more than once every 4 years. I inquired of rci if they were going to do that with the disney resorts and they confirmed that they would probably be implementing that policy with these resorts. That policy is not used by interval. I have traded into disney resorts several times and they are going to be harder to get now since the switch. I trade weeks not points for them. I will be staying there again in Feb....and will be advising the disney vacation club of my unhappiness with this switch vs. just adding rci.
