I'm presently looking for a DVC but not holding my breath so thought I would ask the experts.
Here is what we are looking for in an exchange with RCI to Disney area.

Very close to Disney World Park
Full kitchen. Pool. Clean clean clean
Shuttle to Disney, Epcot etc from the hotel.
A close place to get a few groceries
Some restaurants close by.
Adults and children from 1yr to 10yr

So what are your recommendations. Thanks

You are looking for a timeshare, not a hotel - correct?

I like Wyndham Bonnet Creek, which meets all of your criteria, and has multiple restaurants right on site.

*They do charge for their shuttle.

You might also consider renting DVC points if RCI can't get you an exchange. Point rental runs 12-14 per point. We have rented our DVC points to others through Dave's DVC Rental.

I don't really understand renting points for DVC but would like to learn.

you can look over on disboards.com under DVC on the forums. You will need to log in to see rentals. FYI-rentals are usually final transactions with no refunds. A rental will likely cost a lot more than an RCI trade offsite and using a taxi to-from the parks. For ex, a 2BR for a week in Oct costs 230 DVC points, which, at $12 a point, is $2700. A 1 BR would be approx. 180 points. You could also rent Bonnet Creek for much less, either from Wyndham directly or from and owner. BC's shuttle is $5PP each way, I think.

IMNSHO, Bonnet Creek is higher quality than some of the Disney resorts, it's very close to Epcot, and you can get an RCI exchange there far easier.

Agreed. However, I would not use the shuttle, but instead get a rental car. The shuttle is no where near as convenient as Disney transportation.

The OP asked about a shuttle, so that's why I mentioned it. It's not economical for a large party, but when my son and I stayed at Bonnet Creek we used the shuttle and it was perfect for us, because we were only going to the parks, so we didn't want or need a car.

I have stayed at Disney at least 6 times. First time when I brought my TX sister with me (4th visit for me) ... she insisted she NEEDED a car and rented one. Drove over to one of the parks for the early 8AM EMH (Extra Magic Hour) ... got a nearby parking space and enjoyed the park (I think it was AKV and we were staying at VWL resort).

We came out to leave the park to go back to our timeshare condo but ended up wandering for at least 30 minutes LOOKING for that RENTAL CAR .... walking and trying to beep the car. It was a warm day in early May.

After that, she decided riding the BUS was just fine. Next time we drove it was when we were going back to the airport.

The parking at Disney is around $17 a day (I lost track). If you stay off property, you pay. If you stay ON property, you can ride the Disney transportation for free, but they charge a $95 per week resort fee for the privilege.

We just came back and parking was $20 per day.
