We are going to Orlando next week. It will be our first time there. We want to take the kids to the Animal Kingdom. Where can we get discount tickets? We are staying at the Westgate Vacation Villas.

We have found the best prices by going to mouseowners.com and using the undercover tourist link to purchase tickets.

I agree

I did a lot of research when we visited Orlando in 2006 and undercover tourist through the mousesavers link had the best price.

I am a little hesitant about purchasing tickets in advance. The kids can't seem to stay well this month. Is there a place to purchase discount tickets in the area or at Westgate?

Disney tix don't expire if unused, so if you buy in advance and don't use them, they will still be good years in the future. Since Disney usually increases prices every year, you'll actually save more if you don't use them right away.

Good luck with that theory - actually, they do expire unless specifically noted. For example, a seven day ticket is good for seven days after the initial visit - if you try to enter on day 8 your ticket is no good.

Things change and costs go up.

They used to be forever based on the number of days purchased but now you pay extra to get that "feature". If you don't start the X day clock ticking on the consectutive day ones then they are good indefinitely, but depending on that remaining the case is a bit risky. Plus you've tied up your money then don't use it? Not a great deal. Buy what you'll use at the best price you can find is the best way now days.

Westgate did sell tickets - but don't think they were discounted.

This is not correct. Disney tix are good for 14 days from your initial visit, regardless of the number of days on the ticket. After that, they expire unless the no-expiration option is purchased.

My point, however, was that if you don't use them, they don't expire, and the cost of tickets will increase every year.
