After seeing the 50% off special to add Gold Membership, I decided to give it a try. I was interested in the hotel and short stay features.
Just spent some time looking at what is available. After adding my maintenance fee+additional cost+exchange fee, nothing is attractive from a cost point of view.I

Does anyone have a success story to share?

You could have searched hotel and short stay without upgrading. They let you look, just when you go to complete the transaction they add on the price of the gold membership.

Because of the bigger discount for size upgrade and free guest certificates, and platinum getaways, I go for platinum over gold.

I’ve been an interval member for years. I finally decided to go with platinum since the last two to three years I’ve been doing getaways and multiple rooms with name changes. If I do two getaways I’ll get my money back. I may start looking Tim to short stays

I upgraded to Platinum as well last yr. Well worth it because I now always upgrade. Plus getaways are always great.

I had platinum for years. It paid for itself when I traded more as when upgrading unit size the price was less.

Right now I am not on it for two reasons, I do less trading as I use what I own and because I got annoyed that I was never offered a discount as many other were.

Agreed. The hotels exchange and short stay option really don't have much benefit to me. The only benefits worthy of an upgrade come with platinum. Free guest certs and getaway discounts. If you don't need any of those....then II regular membership is the way to go. I always let my platinum expire and then purchase it when I needed it to do one of the two mentioned.

Is there any way to find out costs for II membership without entering name, address, etc. on their website? I’m interested in depositing my deeded Hawaii weeks with II instead of RCI, but I want to know what it will cost before I give them my information!

I don't think it has gone up since the increase last year. Interval fees 2019 You may want to call though to see if there are any discount codes applicable based on what you own.

Gold just doesn't offer enough to offset the cost but we definitely get our money's worth with platinum. One of my kids is using two back to back getaways ($100 total plat discount) plus two free guest certificates. Obviously a no brainer. I use it for size upgrades too. Wait until you need to use it and add (buy) it at that point. The multi year discounts are pretty good as well.

Out of more than 20 years of II membership, we only bought Gold one year and found that we didn't take advantage of anything it offers. So I don't think it's worth going to Gold.
