Hello there,
On May 26th my wife and I attended a timeshare presentation from Holiday Inn Vacation Club. I refused to purchase the points based time share that they were selling which started at 200,000 points for $44k at 16% interest and of course they did the hard sell tactics including you can get your own financing, we just got this one sold back to us, and you will never get this deal again and it is not available anywhere else. After another hour plus of telling them no and we are ready to leave they sent in the QA guy who then offered the well you can try a week vacation at a resort for $1500 interest free (20 payments of 69.99 + 100 today) with locked in prices and a $400 voucher and you can tell them no then. This was called the Latitudes package. I agreed to that but I got back to the hotel room and started doing research and realized I was signing myself up for another hard sell and at an even worse value than this one. I see that I have to send them a letter within 10 calendar days to rescind the Latitudes offer and they will charge me $35 dollars for the promotional material they gave me. Tomorrow the post office will be open and I will send a rescind notice certified mail while still in the 10 day period. Is there anything special I need to do?

You might be able to evade the $35 charge for "promotional material" if you send it back separately from your rescission letter.

I think I will just count the $35 as a lesson learned, but good point.

Not a great deal but it sure in heck beats a likely loss of $44k! Clearly a rescind letter is still in order.
