We own two Wyndham contracts which we purchased on ebay. One contract is 126,000 Annual points and the second contract is 210,000 points every even year. We attended an owner update yesterday and purchased 64,000 points for $10,627. The salesperson said that this purchase would qualify our total points (295,000 average) for full wyndham developer purchased benefits. We neglected to ask them to show us this in the contract. Upon reading the contract i noticed that there is a sheet with two columns: wyndham club pass - universal; Wyndham Club Pass Exchange Benefits. For Wyndham points purchased from a third party, the sheet says universal benefits apply but exchange benefits do not apply. What does this mean? Is my total wyndham portofolio eligible for full Wyndham Benefits? In other words, can we now use all of my points to exchange for worldmark and hotels are only the 64,000 that we purchased from Wyndham? Is this new contract worth keeping or should we cancel. As far as I can tell, this new contract says nothing about qualifying our third party purchased points for full Wyndham benefits.

Even if it is the truth, I don't think Plus Partners benefits on your resale points will be worth $10K.

I dont think so either and am pretty sure we will cancel. Is plus partner the same as the wyndham club pass? The reason we were interested is that we would like access to the worldmark properties and other brands that Wyndham may purchase in the future. Also they told us that their booking system distinquishs between developer purchased and third party purchases and there is less inventory available to third party contracts. They said that this happens behind the scenes. After googling "Wyndham Complaints" and reading the posts, I don't think we will be better off with this purchase.

Take that 10K, spend 2-4K on a resale Worldmark contract. And yes, plus partners is Club Pass and some other stuff that isn't worth use of your points.

Just RESCIND while you still can!

Learn and read the WHYs, WHEREs, HOWs and WHAT HAVEs ..... before buying another point of anything.

AND then buy resale after using your current 336K of resale points for 2 years AND then decide if you need more points.

Just think of it as ... NOT paying interest @ the Wyndham offered rate for this 64K contract, will (almost) pay your current MFs on the points (333K) you currently own.

See ... I just convinced YOU that you are already taking FREE VACATIONS!

as it turns out there are no Universal benefits yet (and probably will never be)

then if you still want Worldmark, you can buy a small contract for under $3000 and whenever you want to make a reservation you can rent the credits from another owner, That or make friends with a worldmark owner that rents and rent from him

Thats confusing because as you said you can only exchange with points bought from Wyndham. The way they deal with what seems to be contradictory statements is to say all members are entitled to the universal benefits of club pass but we dont have any universal benefits now

I don't think they'll hose you, but I'd strongly advise also sending the letter by certified mail to the address listed in your rescission instructions, just to protect yourself from an unscrupulous salesman.

I agree with Linda. That hand delivered rescission letter may very well get "lost" in the office. Get it in the mail, certified, the the correct address.

ABSOLUTELY Send it Certified mail. I'd even go as far as keep copies, locate the phone number of the office you send it to and call in to check on its arrival!

No need to do that, you only need the receipt from the post office showing it was sent.
