Earlier this week we got contacted to sell our RCI Extra weeks. The company offered to advertise and get us renters, 399$ a week, for 6 weeks, totaling to 2394$.

This just happened yesterday and it was very official complete with Docusign and everything. Offer was that they could sell the weeks for us for $2000 a week and get us a good profit.

Did I just get scammed? And what are the recommended next steps to get our money back if so?

Is this the company you used? I don’t know anything about them but I’d be very suspicious as you now are.

Good luck.

Most likely yes. Since it is a violation of RCI terms to rent/sell anything that you obtain from them.
For clarification, did you pay them $399 a week for a total of $2394 in hopes to secure a larger profit once they sold?
What was the method of payment you used? That may be your only recourse is to dispute the charge.

RCI does have this alert on their website, I'm sure they have experience in dealing with these folks, it may be worth a call to them too.

Yes. If you paid by credit card, dispute it immediately.

Summary:
1. SCAM
2. Upfront Fee required (as soon as they get the $, they move on to next victim).
3. It's not RCI (the scammers use a name that sounds like RCI, Interval International, etc.
4. You do NOT have any Extra Vacation / Getaway weeks. An Extra Vacation is a cash rental on RCI. You may purchase a week from them at the stated price.
5. No corporation is ever looking for timeshares for their employees / events. etc.
6. They called you: Anyone who calls you out of the blue about your timeshare is a scammer. ALWAYS. Do not answer calls from numbers that are not in your contact list.

DISPUTE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY.
Reason, company cannot provide what they say, RCI doesn't allow you to do it.
DISPUTE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY.
Don't bother giving the very official company any communications.
DISPUTE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY.

@catman2023 That money is gone. Try contesting the charge, but with Docusign, they may have your signed permission from you to charge your account. Good Luck!

100% a scam yes.

you will likely have to demand a refund or go through whatever "official" cancellation process was in the contract you signed, even though you are dealing with a scammer.

not that it will do any good on recovery, but your credit card dispute/fraud department is going to require you to at least try before they will get involved on your behalf and it will most certainly help any judgement decision if you can claim you made an effort to cancel almost immediately and they refused.

these scams are some of the most common in the industry today, so hopefully your credit card dispute department is familiar with them and will view your case favorably assuming the scammer doesnt refund your money.

If it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam. This is a common scam call that we get all of the time.

The website is actually ownerstravelexchange.com. The website is less than two years old. The scammers are following a common playbook which is to steal money under the guise of an advertising company. It is certain that despite their lies on the phone their docusign only states that you are paying to advertise your timeshare. You will never get a renter because that part of their “business” is a complete sham.

Below is a thread from a similar advertising company using the exact same business model. I explain the whole scheme in detail in this thread.

Anyone who has been contacted by this scam NJ company, and/or lost money to them, should file a complaint with the BBB and Attorney General. Although there isn’t a doubt in my mind about them being a scam, as of today no one appears to have filed a complaint with the BBB as they have no profile.
