We used to have a week in Hawaii but we changed to point system so we could travel the world. We get 4500 points a year. You can also save two years of points and borrow from future year. We have done this once to get a month long trip in a 2 bedroom in Italy that was ridiculous. If your more of a weekly to 10 day tracker you can go on a trip every year.

They have places all over the world. China, Europe, everywhere. They have some amazing places in Arizona that we have been to like Sedona. So much in Mexico you will have a hard time choosing. And there spot in Vegas on the strip is perfect for bachelor party.

We just don't have the time anymore so we tend to give away for wedding, birthday gifts etc.

Check out the website for all the locations they have to offer. Try to look under reservations to really see how many places we have.

Yearly maintenance is around $1,100

When you switched to points they gave you membership in the CLUB which allows booking all DRI locations. Unfortunately, the CLUB membership isn't transferable. If you sell the points, the buyer will only be able to book resorts in the Hawaii collection (which includes nice resorts in Sedona and Las Vegas).

Wow really, i didn't know that. wonder how i can find out which resorts they will have access too and which they won't with my points. I thought they would get access to all DR resorts and access to the interval exchange for more options like we do. Wonder if donating to a charity is better then at this point. Thought it would be better to give to someone who would use it for there family and felt it would be simpler. thanks for informing me of this.

Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
I just had an interesting discussion via email with a man who is selling his diamond resort weeks. He said that DRI told him it would be possible for him to add a new buyers name to his original deed and that person would have access to all resorts in the club. I believe there was some kind of fee to do that. After a short amount of time he was willing to quit claim his interest in the membership leaving the new buyer with access to all the resorts in the club based on his membership. The membership would now be in the name of the new buyer.

Deed it back to DRI

If you find you really don't want this timeshare any longer, DRI is taking back timeshares. Lots of Tuggers have done it already. Here's the link:

http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224859

In a nutshell....you send an email request, they respond with paperwork, you fill it out and send $250. About a month later, you're free.

Check it out, it may be an option for you.

Best of luck to you.
