I am new to posting, so bear with me. I would like to know if Diamante Cabo San Lucas is legitimate. Went to presentation, bought The Resort Club Executive Suite (1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath). Referred us to someone they are in partnership with someone who will sell your other time share (we have one in St. Maarten); but it requires an up front $399 non refundable fee. Was told that this was an U.S company. Diamante also does not require a yearly maintenance fee. You don't pay the fee unless you use the unit ($800). When we received a letter regarding our first payment, the letter showed an address for "Headquarters", which upon researching ended up being a regular residence. The letter also informed us that we were dealing with a Mexican Company, not an American one as we were told. We are not comfortable to send a lump sum of money to a residential address. How does one find out if a company like this is legitimate or not? If anyone has more experience with Diamante, or any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Diamante is a legitimate timeshare resort, but the resale thing is a common scam Mexican timeshare salesmen pull. I wouldn't pay them up front, you will be throwing $399 to the wind.

You say lump sum payment......Are you referring to the $399 or to the overpriced timeshare purchase you committed to (Diamante)?

Diamante's US number is 866-901-9058. If you have concerns about where you are sending loan payments, you should be able to call that number and verify that your contract is legitimate and let them explain why you are mailing payments to a residential address.

You did attend a presentation in the Resort at Diamante, right?

In answer to the questions: Yes, we did attend a presentation at the resort in Cabo San Lucas. Also, the full payment is the balance due for the "overpriced timeshare" that we committed to, which we wanted to pay in full. The $399 was the amount asked for in order for us to sell the timeshare we already have in St. Maarten with this particular party associated with Diamante Resorts.
Thank you for your input and the phone number.
