I have read a lot of threads about banking a Desert Oasis week with II. Since the SDO is a RCI Gold Crown resort, can you bank with RCI?

Yes, and unlike with II where SVO ("Starwood Vacation Ownership") often picks the week to deposit (even though it can only legally do that with SDO units that are within the SVN ("Starwood Vacation Network"), the week YOU book your SDO is the week SVO deposits into RCI, even if that SDO unit is in SVN.

(You can also deposit a prime SDO week (that YOU book) with SFX)

Good Luck!

I might join RCI next year and try it as opposed to the SVN/II shuffle next year, as I wound up with an inferior week deposited this year with SVN. It was pretty late in the year when I was doing my banking, and I have read earlier is better with II.

As SDO was only affiliated with RCI before Starwood took over the resort, a lot of these owners have always used RCI.

That is why there are a lot more SDO weeks in RCI than II, so the "value" of the week in RCI is not as hiogh as in II, where less weeks are deposited.

Good to know. Thanks!
