As a result of the reduced demand, Delta has also advanced the retirement of its older aircraft, including its iconic McDonnell Douglas subfleet consisting of MD-80 and MD-90 series aircraft.

Calling the MD-80 fleet "iconic" is an insult to computer desktops the world over.

Producing planes such as the MD-80 was one of the reasons why McDonnell Douglas collapsed, and when their executives inexplicably took over Boeing when the two companies merged, they've now sunk Boeing as well with their ineptitude.

Well, there goes my flight to Vegas in the fall. I never got an email, but when I checked on-line, the flight was cancelled. We were on the fence about going anyway.
