Hi - I have week 51 - (Christmas week) at WG Lakes in Orlando, a 3BR lock off. Don't want it any more. Can't deal with the process of selling it myself. I'm exploring the deedback process but want to be sure I'm not getting ripped off. The Westgate "developer services" handles deedback program. I've paid maintenance fees (about 1200) for 2021 already. They will 'take' it back for $1600- this is a big favor? What's reasonable? Any or all advice appreciated. they gave me a deadline of this Friday to accept the offer.

Some people are willing to pay third party exit companies thousands of dollars to get out of their Westgate timeshare. If yours is a fixed week you might find someone who may take it off your hands but even then you might have to pay for closing costs. Note that Westgate seriously restricts resale users. $1,600 to cleanly walk away from Westgate forever seems more than reasonable to me.

Wow, more than reasonable huh. If I meet their deadline Friday, the deed is transferred, but I've already paid my fees for next year. What to do in that regard? thank you-

Ask them to apply their 2021 maintenance fees toward your Deed back expense...... Of course this may be easier said than done.

The new owner can pay the 2021 fees, not you.

Couldn't that 2021 week be deposited in RCI or II ?
