In the past, I've used a Studio Week at Gaslamp Plaza Suites -- San Diego for some great trades.
No longer.

With the new II changes -- was expecting to see units with appropriate fees -- with the expectation of higher fees -- and then my choice whether I want to pay those fees.

At least that is how I interpreted the II explanation of changes & charges.

This is not the case.

I am no longer able to see any of the Marriott Hawaii properties.

I understood it to be like that also. Hopefully they will adjust what everyone can see, and members can choose if the extra fees are worth it to them.

Why launch a new program on a Saturday?

I agree with the wait and see model. I don't have anything I want / need to exchange at the moment.

However...

I'm wondering if there is a default setting applied to Capital Vacation weeks?
My timeshare has always been a successful independent entity; formerly under VRI umbrella. Now it is managed by Capital Vacations.

Thankfully it has dual affiliation with RCI.

Does Capital give you TPL? I would check that over paying RCI for a weeks account because it's often included and the exchange fee is like 179 vs 299, and it sees a lot (maybe all?) of the RCI weeks inventory.

Trading Places International (owned by Capital Vacations) is a tiered exchange system, somewhat like DEX. So the low exchange fee is in effect only for exchanges of same or lower tiers. So just like the 'new' II, exchanges for higher tiers can get expensive. Last time I looked they had 6 tiers.

That is true, I guess mine came in at Tier 5 which seemed pretty good.
