We are headed to Lawai Beach Resort next week - does anyone have an update on the status of the construction behind the resort?

Nothing was happening 11-24 Oct. Ugly. I understand all development has stopped around Koloa and Poipu (but they leave the fences up flapping in the breeze)

Behind Lawai Beach Resort

I am in Kauai right now and have been by the resort a couple of times. The big black fabric is still there and flapping away. I'm assuming you are referring to the project which stretches for maybe a few blocks to the west also? I can see some large construction equipment back there and even a concrete pumper truck so they must be pumping some concrete to a foundation or something. Anyways, yes . . . some activity back there but does not seem like a lot but I was just driving by . . .

When we were there a few weeks ago, it looked the main thing being worked on was a golf course. From LBR you can see over the fence and make out some fairways.

Fairways? Fairways!

That is the best news I have heard for the area. If the land immediately behind Lawai turns out to be a golf course, what a treat for the Lawai guests... much better than houses, condos, etc! Anyone know for sure?

This is what's being built. The entrance to the village is at the new round a bout.

Be aware that there are construction fences all over Koloa and Poipu.

With the present economy, there is very little construction going on.

The traffic circle doesn't have a big enough diameter for semi's so they are all ready breaking up the curbs.
