Update on Cunningham Property Management managed properties (COVID-19 response)

To all owners and guests of Cunningham Property managed resorts:

First and Foremost, the safety and security of our owners, guests and staff must be our highest priority, therefore effective Saturday March 28, 2020, all resorts will be closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 crisis. The resorts affected are: Siesta Sands Beach Resort, Calini Beach Club, Gulf Tides of Longboat Key, Longboat Bay Club, Little Gull Cottages and The Beach Club of St. Augustine. It has become apparent that management cannot guarantee that our resorts will remain virus-free. The boards of directors at each resort have been notified and have given their blessing to shut down.

Cunningham Property Management Corp feels it is best to close all resorts at this time due to several reasons:

  • We cannot guarantee that the virus is not harboring at the resorts.
  • Due to small staff numbers, we cannot clean common areas after each use by guests and owners.
  • As of today, many adjacent Florida counties are under lock-down and we anticipate that it is only a matter of time for Sarasota and Manatee Counties to be added to the list.
  • Travel to the resorts by air and car is not safe. Florida is requiring travelers arriving from several states to be quarantined for 14 days. Unfortunately, our resorts are not equipped for this type of situation.

We feel this is the best and only way to keep you and the staff safe. As weeks approach, we will continue to evaluate the situation as it progresses. Due to the nature of this situation, we do not know if owners will be compensated for the loss of their vacation time. When we return to normal operations, management will assess what options may be available and present them to the board.

We hope you and your families are staying safe. We believe working together and following the recommendations of health experts will be the best path to limiting the health and economic damage this pandemic will cause. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

So glad we booked our week at The Beach Club for the fall this year instead of our usual Easter visit. Hopefully all their renovations will be complete by then and this virus will be over with.
