We booked a special "getaway" package direct through Marriot via a salesperson who called us directly with this deal. We have 3 nights booked at Crystal Shores for mid November in a non-view unit.

We have added on 2 additional nights - one is gulf side view booked with destination points - and the other is also gulf side view booked with Marriott.com paying cash.

My question is - since Crystal Shores only has gulf view, side & front (no real non-view units such as garden view) - what do you think our chances are of getting put into a gulf side unit for the full 5 nights and not having to switch rooms?

Or do you think we would be put in the lowest category, gulf view, for the first 3 nights and then move to gulf side for the remaining 2?

I believe November is non peak season in Marco Island so hoping they won't be near capacity.

They usually don't move views at crystal shores, but it's worth a request as you're on the preview package. We just checked in for 7 nights here yesterday so let me know if you have any questions or want anything checked into at the property.

Sorry, what do you mean by this? They won't move us up from the non view for the first 3 nights? Or they won't have us switch rooms and put us in gulf side from the start?

I will certainly request gulf side so we don't have to move once we are closer to Nov.

I think for your package nights, while you have a non view, you are really just not confirmed to a specific view. All rooms at CS have a view type, from Gulf View, to Gulf Side, to Gulf Front. I don't know of your chances of being able to stay in the same villa for the entire stay, but it doesn't hurt to ask and they usually try to accommodate.

Bumping this - only one month to go!

Quick question - does anyone have an email address for Crystal Shores? I would like to email them directly explaining our different reservations and our requests for room placement. We will be celebrating a milestone birthday and an anniversary so hopefully will get a good room! I am going to request gulf side, high floor, with the bedrooms separated. Thanks!

You may have already stayed at Crystal Shores as I am reading this for the first time.
Crystal Shores is very small only about 65 rooms spread over three room types. Obviously owners of the Gulfside weeks staying during their season will be accommodated first and they will likely be asking for high floor. Then probably elite DVC owners. They pay a lot of maintenance fees to own there, so it makes sense.
It doesn't hurt to ask - just don't get your hopes up too much. No view is bad at Crystal Shores.

Hi, just seeing this now! We were at Crystal Shores last month Nov 16-21 and stayed in room 707 gulfside for the whole week, and didn't have to move rooms. It was awesome! Purchased an encore package and am already planning our return trip.

Tip For Viewing Sunset

When I stayed at Chrystal Shores last Thanksgiving, I had a gulfside view on the same floor as the fitness center. Although I had a nice view of the beach, I couldn't see the sunsets from my balcony. However, I found the balcony of the fitness room to be a great place to watch the sunsets. There is a table and chairs, so I brought a glass of wine and enjoyed the view. By the end of the week, several of us took advantage of this spot.

Of course, you can also work out at this time if you prefer. It is a nice oasis.
