Princess Cruises (Carnival Corp.) seems to be taking a hit on all fronts.

Sounds like a normal norovirus, which cruise ships seem particularly vulnerable to. I picked up one once, not on a cruise ship, but when flying back from Tokyo. It's a miserable virus.

This always happens on cruises. This is why I don’t go on them.

Norovirus happens more frequently in schools and assisted living facilities. It does not ALWAYS happen on cruises.
It happens more than enough times. You hear about it constantly. Being in such close quarters it’s more common than resorts.

I agree that it very rarely happens at resorts. It is the close quarters. My husband caught it on a short one hour flight on Southwest. We have never had norovirus happen anywhere on the cruise ship during our cruises. We are leery of norovirus on planes and cruises but norovirus does not always happen on them.

I’ll amend my statement to say it seems like it always happens on them especially this time of year. Maybe you hear about it more because of the amount of people that are affected. I for one just don’t like cruises so I’ll use this as another excuse to not go. I prefer the resort life.

The reason you heard about norovirus on cruise ships because they must report this virus to the CDC and to general cruiser public. Public schools cafeterias, nursing homes, food trucks, cafeterias / dinning
halls in colleges and restaurants do not have to public report the norovirus to their general public..
Each cruise lines and each cruise ships are inspected by the cdc and they are scored from 100 to receiveing a failing score.

To avoid the norovirus simple wash your hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds. Dry your hands with a clean towel. Before you eat at any restaurant on a cruise ship; especially if you enjoy eating a buffet meal.

Wash your hands after using the restroom with warm water and soap for 20 seconds before eating to any restaurant; even at home.

This way you can avoid the norovirus.

On a commerical airplane you can catch the norovirus from a dirty germ infected food tray. Take some Clorox wipe an wipe the tray , the buckle and the seat handles. .Please take some Clorox wipes when you used the airplane lavatories.
