How many Platinum owners are credit pooling their points today. Thanks to the change in how points come back into the account.

I did about 3 million points yesterday rather than wait until the last minute

I canceled all of my 2015 upcoming reservations except those who had guest reservations assigned because I did not know which ones were made with regular points, canceled points, or credit pool points. Then credit pooled all of the regular points (approx. 550,000) and was then able to get back all of the reservations which I canceled. Did this 2 days ago and it worked perfectly.

Thats exactly what I did

Me three!

I did what Ron and JimmieJames did. I hope the hard part is over now that we know what points we're using. This has been somewhat painful and taken way more time than I cared to spend.

I've rarely credit pooled in the past, thus haven't seen any cancellation points come back to a credit pool date.

Over, and over, the VC's have assured me that if I book a reservation with credit pool points, and cancel it, the points will return to the credit pool.

Example, if I booked something today with my points that expire September 29, 2018, and then cancel the reservation, the points will return to the credit pool with a Sep 29, 2018 expiration. Has anyone actually seen this happen?

I was told that it happened, but it is a day too early for me to have seen it.

Me four, and it took a LONG time. There were a few I didn't bother with.

I am going to wait till next year at the earliest. May put some into wyndham rewards before the start of the year. I guess I could have done that today.

It was March of this year where I used regular use year points to book online instead of cancelled points. I called in towards the end of the day and the person I spoke with said they did not know how to do it and to call back the next day. Called back the next day and was told it could not longer be done and no notes to support what I was told. Actually was told that regular points are worth more then cancelled points and because of that they would not change it. Never did get called back from owner care. But I guess it is water under the bridge now.

I think we're all relying upon what the VC's and the written change tells us. If the points do not return to the credit pool we're all up the creek and there will be several nasty conversations with Owner Care. I have not had the opportunity to try it out - but I have some reservations to cancel tonight and will know by tomorrow morning.

Yes, I have. They went back in to the pool.

I'm not quite following this. Are you saying that you made reservations online, called to get the points restacked, the first person didn't know how (or didn't want to) and when you called the next day they refused to do it? As you say, water under the bridge, since you have probably rebooked with what were cancelled points, and if you cancel them now they become regular use year points... so I'm not sure I'm following.

Those of you platinum owners that canceled all of your 2015 reservations and put all of your 2015 points in the credit pool before Sept 1, as I did - continue to watch your points readout. This morning I had regular points showing up again for 2015. I made a reservation already which should have used them up again - but they should not have been there in the first place. This is just a reminder to watch what the computer does to your points so that you do not have regular points again which will expire at the end of the year.

So can I deposit credit pool points into rci?

I remember before, I could through a work around.

Thanks

Yes that is a correct summary. Very annoying.

In principle, no. But, this might be a way to convert pool credits. I'm not sure I'd rely on it, as it might be something they can fix.

Trying to catch up on the recent changes. Since credit pooled points now go back to the credit pool and they can't be deposited into RCI, is there no longer a workaround to get credit pooled points into RCI?

so now instead of advising to credit pool all your points except those that you plan to use for ARP reservations I now advise, credit pool all your points except those you plan to use for ARP or plan to deposit to RCI

Regular points being extended or allowed to "roll over"?

We are here at Bonnet Creek resort. We are avoiding the Owner "update" but one thing the parking pass girl said was that Wyndham is now allowing owners to roll over points into the next use year. I can find nothing about this on Wyndham's webpage. Has anyone else heard this?

That is what this topic is about. It's called the credit pool. If you are not VIP you need to do it before your use year starts, and it extends the life of your points for 3 years. There is a $39.00 fee to put your points in the credit pool.

But that's not new. We've owned since 2011, and have used the credit pool for unused points. The way the girl was talking, it was a new way to extend points for another year without having to toss points in the credit pool or into RCI. I acknowledge that her lips were moving so she could have been lying just to get us to go to the update, but I figured if anyone knew what was up, it would be the TUG members here.

There was a time when you cancelled a reservation the points were returned to you as cancelled points and they expired at the end of the use year (of the reservation

So if your use year was Jan to December and you cancelled a December reservation the cancelled points had to be used by the end of December.

What some people did is to own multiple use years, and when the cancelled points from a December reservation came back they came back with a March expiration.. ie You could roll points forward

This is what the salesman was talking about when they said what they said. Now there are no more cancelled points, they go back as regular points and they go back to where they came from. No more rolling forward. That loophole has been closed. But its almost a non issue. Now you dont have to find a loophole to extend the life of your points

The advice i always give at this point is: Put all your points (except those that you reserve for ARP or for an RCI reservation), into the points credit pool. If you cancel your points will go back to the pool
