Does Wyndham allow you to pool your points from your 2014 use yr, or just the next use yr's set of points (2013)? Do you have to pool all the points from your contract or can you specify the amt? Lastly, what if I buy a Wyndham resale and it has a use yr of April, is it possible to have seller put points in the pool before the property is transferred if I know I won't be using them in current use yr? Thanks!!

Yes its $39 fee per year I believe.
Yes to your second question also. BUT if you are buying on e-bay you probably wont be able to do this since they might not have access to the account.

Also keep in mind VIP's can bank after start year. I just bought some points from a VIP with a Jan date and I asked him to bank them for me since it will probably be April or so before I have access to the points.

Thanks antjmar!
If I do find one on eBay, why couldn't the owner of the contract put the points in the pool after listing has ended and paid for by buyer?

Yes you can pool your 2014 points now..(I did)

You can specify only a portion to be pooled. (ive done this before)

The seller can credit pool the points, but not points that expire in April..even a Platinum VIP has to do it within the first 9 months of his use year (regular VIP owners and non Vip owners and have to do it before the use year begins...Gold Vips get a 6 month extension and Platinum VIPs 9 months)

He could but I dont think they will since most listings they wont even make a reservation for you.

Re: April banking I assumed you meant april 2012 points if you meant April 20011 Ron is correct.

The other problem you may see is if the seller has multiple contracts and they are only selling off a portion but will still have some Wyndham points I don't think the pooled points will transfer. It is the same with reservations if the original members account isn't being closed then those things stay with the original account number since they are tied to the member number and not the contract. Since a large portion of ebay sellers are mega sellers with many contracts I don't think having them pool points for you would work.

Jason

*I called wyndham and confirmed with title service that this is in fact the way it works. If you buy an ownership where the original person is closing out their wyndham account the reservation/ pooled points transfer. If the account still exists after the transfer the reservations/pooled points say with the original account.

I hope you were given incorrect info since I just made a purchase and the closing company has that the points will be pooled for me in my contract....

The way I understand it each account number also has contract numbers for each location thats why you can sell (or add) individual contracts and still keep your account number. The points are associated with the contract number.

If the account is a continuing account, the reservations would have to be made by that account owner using a guest pass. If a future reservation passes to the new account number, than as far as I know, the new owner can cancel it.

I would call the closing company and confirm that that contract is the only one in the account. If it isn't I would cancel the pooling of the points.

Thanks for the info, that's what I did. Waiting to hear back from them.
