We have a payment due of around $8,000 for pool resurfacing. They allow us to use a credit card with no fee. Should we do this on the platinum American Express or our Bonvoy card? Which gets the best value. My husband is not interested in opening another card but I know that’s the better deal

Well, on regular purchases, the Amex is one point per dollar, and the Bonvoy is two points per dollar. If the Bonvoy points are worth to you more than 1/2 cent per point, then the Bonvoy is the better choice.
