Crafters, any ideas for tiny muslin bags?

 I was just given 36 - 3x4" drawstring bags, plain unbleached muslin, and would like to make something interesting with them. Any suggestions? Some animal theme would be great, as I'm hoping to donate the finished products to our local animal shelters, the SPCA and/or Joyful Rescues on Hinsdale, NY--either as animal toys, or fundraising items. These bags are PERFECT--but exactly what for yet, I'm not sure! Thanks ...

You can put catnip and stuffing in them, sew them shut, and give them to deserving cats as toys. Can you make them look like mice?

That's an idea; of course, ALL cats are deserving, even (by our lowly human standards) the most neurotic ones! I'd kinda like to keep the drawstring though; it closes easily and definitively...

Something to be used as favors for a wedding or shower?

Are they the kind that are meant to be used as tea bags? Very thin muslin?

Or how about this--you could put small toys in them (those little plastic animals would be good) and use them for a children's grab bag. The shelter could keep them in a "pirate chest" and sell a grab for $1 or 50 cents. Some of the bags could have something like a free vaccination for a pet or something the shelter itself donates.

Or make the catnip bags and use the drawstrings to tie them to a thin dowel rod so the bags can be used to "tease" the cat?

Create some little bags with a holiday theme. Stuff with hard candies and sell at a bake sale or crafts sale - proceeds to the animal shelter.

Stuff with potpourri, decorate, and sell as drawer scents?

I was also thinking of the holidays. You could stamp a simple design on them and then fill them with just about anything. Maybe an ornament. If you were going to use them for a craft sale or the like to benefit the SPCA, maybe you could find some little animal ornaments to tuck inside. Or dog biscuits.
