I noticed that the page for the new Kahului Airport Courtyard has appeared on Marriott's web site, and states that it will open in June. I had originally thought it would open in the Spring, but they must of had some construction delays. They are not allowing booking yet. It also states that it will be a Category 4.

This will be a nice alternative for people like me who like to add on a day at the beginning or end of a MOC stay for travel reasons. I plan on booking a night here at the beginning and end of our two week trip in July.

thanks for the update on the Courtyard we plan to book one day (prior to our 2 weeks at MOC) in Jan.

I sent an email to customer service inquiring about when reservations would become available, and was told that the hotel will not open until July 14 (rather than June as on the web page), and they will not know when reservations will go live until closer to that date.

I was really hoping the Courtyard in Maui would be open by early July. We have to spend one night in Maui before going to Kauai. We get in too late to
catch a flight that evening.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent hotel near the airport? We usually stay in Kaanapali or Wailea. I am not familiar w/hotels near the airport.

Thanks.

We have stayed a couple of nights at the Maui Seaside Hotel. It's nothing to write home about, but is OK for a single overnight. There are a few good dinner places within walking distance.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I know that we don't have a lot of options. This hotel should be fine for just the few hours we will need it. We get in late, and will try to fly out pretty early in the morning.
