Makes for a nice gift but be cautious using those Starbucks cards for travel. On a recent trips to Key west and the Bahamas cards were refused because they weren't accepted at "vacation destination" Starbucks stores.
Well, I know they work at the standalone Starbucks stores on Maui. Even the one connected to the Foodland in Pukalani. Sometimes the stores inside hotels, casinos, etc are not actually operated by Starbucks, so I'm not surprised if they don't work there.
They should pretty much work at any standalone Starbucks in the US, basically at the same places you can use any Starbucks stored value card.
Really, the idea is that if you go to Starbucks anyway, you can get $100 in value for $80. Or you can give them away as gifts to people that like Starbucks.
And with the stored value cards, if you sign up and register the card on their web site, you get 2 hours of free WiFi access per day with AT&T at any Starbucks location.
