I saw this at my Costco this afternoon. I didn't buy it, but I think I will if I go back during the week.

Makes for a nice gift but be cautious using those Starbucks cards for travel. On a recent trips to Key west and the Bahamas cards were refused because they weren't accepted at "vacation destination" Starbucks stores.

For those of us in the Midwest, Costco also has cards for Caribou coffee - 2 $25 cards for $40. I like Caribou's coffee and ambiance much more than Starbucks, so always take advantage of this one. They had them several months ago, sold out of the quantity available and have finally now starting stocking them again.

They don't accept the Starbucks card at the stores in Harrah's Las Vegas, either. But they do accept them in the stores in my grocery store.

Well, I know they work at the standalone Starbucks stores on Maui. Even the one connected to the Foodland in Pukalani. Sometimes the stores inside hotels, casinos, etc are not actually operated by Starbucks, so I'm not surprised if they don't work there.

They should pretty much work at any standalone Starbucks in the US, basically at the same places you can use any Starbucks stored value card.

Really, the idea is that if you go to Starbucks anyway, you can get $100 in value for $80. Or you can give them away as gifts to people that like Starbucks.

And with the stored value cards, if you sign up and register the card on their web site, you get 2 hours of free WiFi access per day with AT&T at any Starbucks location.

The funny thing is in Key West when they wouldn't take my card I walked across to Duncan Donuts armed with another card and they refused to take their card also. These were both stand alone stores.

My DW saw this on Friday and was so excited, since she often gives Starbuck cards as gifts. :cheer:
