HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MEMBERS

Hello as we come to an end of the year 2011 we have surplus of 10,000+ club points. When I visit HGVC home page the options to save these points is to 'rescue' them to RCA. Is there no option to rescue current year points to HILTON HONORS at all? I noticed my next year (2012) points can be rescued to HH but not 2011 POINTS

Why I prefer HH over RCA I have not had much luck with RCA getting into the resort I want ever but HH although a hotel is much easier to get

Thanks in advance

You can only convert current year points if you are Elite Plus. If you are not then you can deposit into RCI for 2 years usage before they expire or rescue into 2012 for usage next year for club reservations.

If you're not Elite Plus, there is a messy work-around that has been reported here: Call HGVC and ask them to make a Hilton Hotel reservation. They will draw club points based on what the reservation would cost in HHonors points at the effective rate of 1 ClubPoint for 20 HHonors points... Its a membership perk.

Later, when you contact Hilton Hotels to cancel the reservation, HHonors points are returned to your HH-account... or so we've been told (never tried it myself). I would think that at some point Hilton will say that, if your ClubPoints have expired, you lose them (like they do with RCI cancellations), but maybe their computers aren't set to recognize that, yet.

Seriously, dude, when doing a "Rescue" you can choose to put them in (a) your HGVC account for HGVC or RCI bookings next year, or (b) in RCI for use in the next two years. It is a much more efficient use of points.

If you think this may keep you from using your 2012 points, then before January 1st, "Deposit" them to 2013 (they can be borrowed back) or "Convert" them to HHonors (they will post to your HHonors account in January).
