Convert reservation to BP? Booking Xmas with BP.

Hi,
Fairly new owners here we bought retail so have BP points to use up by April 2021. Currently we have a reservation using 2020 and 2021 club points for Hawaii March 2020. We want to use our bonus points book for Hawaii Christmas 2020–same resort, same room type. I know we can’t walk a reservation with bonus points and that they are less changeable. Would it be a good idea to phone in and see if they we can change our current reservation to as late this year as possible now, to walk it to Xmas? and rebook Match using BPs? Would we be likely to lose that two week in March while doing that on the phone? Any tips or advice appreciated!

I think I would call. The customer service reps are usually very helpful.

I agree with @dayooper to call customer service rep but you will most like be charged for a new reservation. If you are lucky, the CS rep might waive the fee.
