I received this note from a legitmate DA in a Texas county. I personally have no knowledge of this company but wanted to spread the world to see if someone did.

Hello Mr.

My name is XXXXX and I am conducting a criminal investigation into the business practices of Premium Realty Trade. I found your contact information on Tugbbs.com and was wondering if you have the contact information the persons making complaints against Premium Realty Trade. I need to contact them so they can participate in my investigation. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

You might have received a note purporting to be from a DA, but I have a VERY hard time believing it actually came from said DA. I can't help but wonder why you were contacted; why not Brian or one of the Administrators who likely would have this info? I can't imagine that you have any more info than he could find just by searching this site.

At the same time, whatever is going on seems like it would be a convoluted scam, but then again we're all so onto various scams that maybe the good ones are taking longer as trust gets built up.

I was very skepical as well but called and spoke to the office, although the specific individual was out of the office today. The inquiry I received was definitely legit.

How did the DA person get your contact info? Did they join Tug as a guest and PM you? If they contacted a moderator, I don't think they would have just released your contact info to any third party. I would think Tug would ask your permission before releasing your info (unless there was a subpoena).

I do not not know what the Tug practice is in regard to releasing information to authorities, however, I think it would not be a bad idea. It would be consistant with a recurring theme of being in opposition to fraudulant type practices. If privacy is a concern, they could place a notice on the site indicating that they do this.

Texas DA

We were sucked in by a company from Houston called Timeshare Investors of America and when we went to physically check them out we found:
1. The business address was bogus and we talked with the building manager and found out they were being investigated by a DA.
2. The US Secret Service was involved in the investigation.
3. Texas is investigating Timeshare Resale fraud.
