Confused..Grand Timber Lodge

Hi All,
I just exchanged for a ski week (Jan 2013, yeah!) at Grand Timber Lodge in Breckinridge. But now I'm confused, because I was thinking it was a Marriott and from the confirm it doesn't seem to be. (I think I had it mixed up with
the one in Tahoe?) So is this a nice resort? I've looked at the reviews and it
seems to get good reviews, but the comments on Trip Advisor are mixed.
Does anyone have any recent first hand knowledge to share? Is the quality
similar to a Marriott?

This link tells you a little something about the owners and the facility. I own at Goldpoint and reallllllllly like Grand Timber. Heated sidewalks, parking garage, indoor pools, beautiful facility, relatively ski in/out, close to Main Street...not a lot to worry about! I think you'll have a great time!

Great, thanks! I know there are a lot of VERY nice resorts that aren't Marriott's, but I was just a little concerned when I realized I'd booked it thinking it was a Marriott, then realized it wasn't! It sure looks nice in the pictures..we got a 2 bedroom for late January next year, so we're excited already!

We've stayed twice at grand timber and the quality rivals Marriotts. It is a very nice resort

I have stayed at Grand Timber a half dozen times and it's a tremendous resort - absolutely Marriott quality. It's not really ski-in/ski-out (although you can ski in, it's a little too cross country for me, i.e. flat spots, and you can't ski out at all) but that would be my only quibble.

Excellent! I don't really mind if it's ski-in, ski out or not, so it sounds perfect.
Do any of you all know if there's a place to ice skate nearby? We've skated at outdoors at Keystone years ago, but wondered if there was another (outdoor) place closer?

Ice skating

There is a traffic light across from, ironcially enough, the Marriott on Main Street (the Breckenridge Brewery is there too). Thanks! FYI, I traded my Hilton Head Spicebush week (it's a fixed June week)
for Grand Timber. I put in a request with II about a month ago...

Breckenridge has a of couple ice rinks near the stoplight on the south side of town. There are 2 NHL rinks, one indoor and one outdoor. These are regular ice rinks, so better quality ice than Keystone, but not the outdoor feel you might be looking for.

This is often the case with timeshares no matter how nice they are. Resorts still in active sales get bad reviews from the unsuspecting who got a hard sales pitch, others expect more hotel type features like daily maid service, etc.
