Madge,

Could you explain the Fairfield Plus Point deposits to RCI?
Some are refered to as Visible, and some Invisible (or generic).
Could you also explain the trading power of each?
Could you explain the advantage/disadvantge of each type of deposit?
Could you explain what makes a visible unavailable, from FF, for deposit?
Could you explain why an invisible has greater trading power than a visible?

Daniel

I might add I am one of the FF experts (owners) and posted the same question to the yahoo/FF_timeshare bbs. Like me they are "guessing" at the trading power and advantage/disadvantge of each type of deposit. The most confusing part would be; what inventory is "represented" by the deposited points?

Fairfield has some inventory that can be deposited into owners' RCI accounts for exchange. These deposits are visible online. However, unless this is specifically requested, Fairfield deposits a specialized week that is not visible online. This allows Fairfield to tailor the deposit to the exchange vacation of interest to the owner. For example, if the owner needs a small unit during White season, he needs only to redeem the number of FairShare Plus points that are likely to access that vacation with RCI. Fairfield may show that as a "Value Studio" or "Value 1BR", etc. There is an ongoing reconciliation of Fairfield inventory to support these special deposits.

Could you also explain the trading power of each?

Deposited resort weeks have Trading Power based on the same components as every other deposit in RCI's program. The specialized deposits are based on the vacation of interest to the member.

Could you explain the advantage/disadvantge of each type of deposit? See above.

Could you explain what makes a visible unavailable, from FF, for deposit?

Fairfield may not have resort inventory available for deposit. They need to keep enough inventory to satisfy owner reservations. When this is the case, they will provide a specialized deposit for exchange with RCI.

Could you explain why an invisible has greater trading power than a visible?

This is not necessarily the case. It depends on the type of specialized (or invisible) week that Fairfield deposits, based on the number of FairShare Plus points redeemed.
