Concierge Gold/Plat food room question:

I'm a Gold member, and in some Marriott's (the one I go to near my home), has a nice little room with food M-F.

My question...can you go there as a Gold member OR
do you have to be assigned to the Concierge Floor to get in?
 
That is a Gold and Platinum MR benefit. You do not need to have a room on that floor, but your key should access the lounge and elevator (if needed to get to that floor.) Some hotels (Renns and Full Service) do not have these. Instead they must provide breakfast. Keep in mind--this is a M-F benefit only. Some WILL feed you on the weekends. I always ask. I am about 50/50 on this.

(some confuse this benefit with a guaranteed ROOM upgrade to this floor. We do get on that floor sometimes, but many times we are just given access. YMMV)

Thanks, my Marriott has the 6th floor for Concierge and the 'food room' is there. I was wondering if I'm assigned the first floor, if I could go there. It sounds like I could! Good news!:)
