Hope I'm posting in the right forum. If not, please move. :)

I'm hoping to exchange into a two bedroom in the Charleston, SC area, arriving either July 9th or 10th (prefer the 10th, and these dates are not flexible). Looking for a two bedroom. Could be up to about an hour away. Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head are both too far.

Right now, we have two deposits, one of 13 TPUs, the other of 15 TPUs. I can have them combined right now for 28 points. I don't know if that will be enough.

I can pay the maintenance fees (due in December), and deposit another week for about 15 TPUs. 43 TPUs should be enough.

I think I'll pay the maintenance fees and combine the three weeks. However, can I request an ongoing search now? 15 TPUs won't be enough, and I don't want to combine right now, knowing that I may have to combine again. But I don't want to miss out on a perfect, 28 TPUs exchange.

As always, many thanks.

Yes - you can combine as many deposits as you want for $99 (it's $99 each time, so do it all at one time) and put in an Ongoing Search.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
I believe there is only 2 rci resorts in Charleston. One is Festiva and the other is bluegreen. I believe the developer chooses what to deposit. They have mostly studios and 1 br units. Summer deposits are also few and far between. I think your chances of a 2 br unit during a single summer week are almost non existent.

Wyndham does deposit some Edisto units. I don't think 28 tpu's will be enough. I think since you are limited on the resorts you can accept dates/size/location you will probably need a lot of luck and a back up plan as well.

Do you have a resort in mind? If so check out the TPU it may not be as high as you think. If you find what you want in OGS you can do the combining then. Good Luck, I hope you find the resort and week you want

Edisto Island is not too far from Charleston and Wyndham has a large resort there. If you can't find it on RCI check the TUG classifieds for Wyndham points for rent and see what an owner can do for you.

I have rented from Ron Parise to get in there. Others also can help you.

I sent friends to Edisto Island last year and they drove into Charleston twice during the week, it was less than an hour for them.

If you know a Bluegreen owner contact them now, there is one 2br unit available for that week and it will not last. It will take 15,000 points. Lodge Alley Resort, Charleston SC.

Actually, I've always thought my best bet would be Wyndham Edisto. I know we stayed at Edisto Beach about 15 years ago, and I think it's was Wyndham. Only about 45 minutes to Charleston, a manageable drive. We did it a few times.

We exchanged into either a one or a two bedroom back then. Probably a two bedroom. I'm pretty sure it was pre-TPUs, so it was a simple week to week exchange.

We actually own Wyndham every other year. Unfortunately, next year is the wrong year, else we'd reserve at 10 months out.

Love Edisto! Great beach and not as crowded as other beaches in Charleston area
