Our son is considering working with this franchise next summer to earn college money. Has anyone heard good or bad about College Pro Painters? Thanks!

Be careful what they promise your son. Part of the funds are commission. Our VT son got burnt by the owner of the franchise. He did not like how the owner lied to customers about the experience of the hires. My son who is very ethical was the head of a crew and quit because of what went on. He did not get paid what he was owed.

Ask yourselves-Would you hire inexperienced people to paint your house?

Others may have better experiences but our son did not.

This is exactly what happened to my neighbor's son. He is still owed money from not being paid and had to lay out money for his own supplies (brushes, canvases, etc.).
Also, they have been cited in Massachusetts for dangerous working conditions (scaffolding, fumes, eye protection).
Just Google them and you'll see the many complaints from customers and employees. Some colleges have banned them from on-campus recruiting.

They're the Amway of house painters. Run away!

My daughter worked for them this summer. She was doing marketing, not painting, but was paid strictly on commission. She did not get paid all that was due her. The person above her quit for similar reasons.

She has a friend who worked for them the summer before (another town)--the whole crew was laid off in the middle of a project, and not paid for their work on that project.

Neither of them would recommend it....
