Title says it all, but we are in our first Wyndham stay at a place other than Bonnet Creek, and I have to say I am extremely impressed with Club Wyndham Westwinds in Myrtle Beach. The location is fantastic and it appears that basically every 2 bedroom unit has an ocean view (and there are no units on the first and second floor as those are the parking lot). The rooms are well furnished and immaculate, it looks like it was relatively recently re-done or else it is just upkept really well. The staff (other than the “concierge” desk) are fantastic as well. I’m really pleasantly surprised and looking forward to trying more Wyndham properties with our points, outside of the Disney World bubble.

As nice (and as cheap) as Westwinds is, I suspect most would place it at the bottom of a list of Wyndham's oceanside resorts in the Myrtle Beach area.

I think it's likely the most "no frills" Wyndham resort in the MB area, but it's well maintained, quiet, and as the OP said all rooms are oceanfront, which is not the case for any other Wyndham resorts in the area. If you don't want a bunch of kids underfoot and want mostly quiet and to stare at the ocean from the comfort of your balcony, Westwinds is hard to beat. We prefer TOTG personally due to it's proximity to a few restaurants (Snooky's primarily), and the local grocery store chain - Boulineau's - all within easy walking distance - but if/when we cannot find a a spot at TOTG our second choice is Westwinds. We shy away from Seawatch and OB because they are much larger resorts with a lot more people and kids always around - which we do not prefer these days.

Agree with the "no frills" characterization. That's a great way to describe Westwinds.

"All rooms are oceanfront" is not accurate. Units on the 4th through 10th floors ending in 01 or 10 are ocean view. But, it's a pretty good ocean view compared to some.

We picked Westwinds because it had the best TripAdvisor reviews, but maybe we’ll have to try some of the others next time.

I have not been to Westwinds in a while, and while the rooms, I think ALL the rooms, are directly ocean front, the rooms seemed a little dated and smallish compared to the other Myrtle Beach resorts.

Seawatch is my favorite rooms big and fairly modern, and most of the rooms have nice views in both North and South tower. The rooms at Ocean Blvd are very large and modern although view can be a complete crap shoot. Also if you get at Tower 4 it's not ocean side. Towers on the Grove is also modern and the rooms are probably the nicest, but the room layouts and size are inconsistent. Every time I have stayed there, the room layouts are different. They also have some units which do not face the beach, but at least they disclose that.

Never stayed at Dye Villas or Grand Palms, cant comment about them.

I really like Westwinds too, and we’ve stayed at all of the Wyndham Myrtle Beach resorts. I like the smaller size of the resort and the units are very nice. We’ve always gotten an oceanfront unit there. Also fewer kids and less general chaos ( compared to some of the other resorts in Myrtle) is a bonus for us!
