Hello -
We've rented at the Wyndham resorts in both Wisconsin Dells and Sevierville, TN several times and loved every minute of it. After our most recent trip, we've decided we'd like to become owners. We considered Disney (where we also vacation regularly), but like the variety Wyndham gives us, and it may lead us to places we would never go otherwise.

We were researching and read about Club Wyndham Access on this forum and it seems like the better option for us. However, searching Club Wyndham Access turns up very little except for links to eBay and buy/sell/rental sites.

Is there a link available with details about what resorts are included, how it interacts with RCI exchanges, etc.? I've found the regular Wyndham 2017 points guide, but not one for Access. We would like to get an idea of what the resale cost + maintenance fees actually get us and how we would even go about booking. Plus, we'd like to ensure we understand difference between CWA & Club Wyndham, and Wyndham Club Pass. (Wyndham Club Pass sounds similar to CWA but does everyone have access to it?)

Also, other than vacation resorts does Wyndham have preview centers elsewhere?

Thanks for any advice you can provide!

First and most importantly, don't go to Wyndham sales centers or preview centers. It's too risky because of the pressure and the lies they'll tell you. Wyndham sales weasels can pressure you into buying a bucket of crap for 100 times its value and make you feel good about it. Stay away!

As for CWA or Club Wyndham, you can't go wrong buying CWA. It's more flexible as far as advance reservation priority (ARP) if that's what you want and the resorts that interest you fall under CWA - most resorts are also CWA. Forget about Wyndham Club Pass. Can't use it if you buy resell. Which is more important, saving tens of thousands of dollars or being able to visit some other resorts at an additional cost plus points? Maintenance fees basically work out the same depending on the resort. CWA are blended fees meaning they are more stable. Some some resorts fees are more and some are less than CWA.

Timeshares work for us, but not for everyone. It appears you know about timeshares so you're off to a good start and asking questions is makes you more knowledgeable. We haven't experienced and problem or issues until recently - the Wyndham's new dysfunctional piece of crap abortion of technology website they shoved down our throats and how Wyndham drastically changes rules and policies 'after the games starts.'

The points guide or requirements for each resort are the same whether you are using CWA points or CWS (select) points to book (at 10 months out or less). The difference is in how your points are purchased or deeded.

There is a link to the club directory in the Wyndham stickies here on tug

Your question indicates you don't understand Wyndham points as well as you could. The points requirements vary by resort and season and specific unit type but CWA points work the same as points from a specific resort. There is no CWA points chart

There are sooooo many MORE issues and nuances with Wyndham, than just liking the few resorts you have seen.

READ more and then, ask a 1001 questions before spending a penny with or ON any Wyndham product. Wyndham rewrote MANY of the "in & out" usage rules in the last 10 months or so. A new website is not like a new car model which you have been driving for the last 5-10 years. They went from a fairly basic WEBSITE which generally ran decently during the posted business hours .... to the new monster whose function is dependent on YOUR web browser and clearing cookies .... crashing .... can NOT count better than a ONE YEAR OLD BABY .... is suddenly CRASHing again.... can't not added, subtract or keep YOUR correct point count for your member number .... plus each search is a real PIA effort ... plus Wyndham will cancel reservations for any or NO reason. And then the website is just plain DOWN.
