We are so very upset regarding misleading information told to us today regarding our RCI "points" timeshares at Club Regina, a Raintree Vacation Club (RVC) we purchased in March 2005. We already owned a RCI points timeshare receiving 100,500 points each year and have been able to use our RCI vacations to the fullest by using them for flights and taking advantage of the 9000 points under 45 day policy.

When we purchased the Club Regina "points" RCI timeshare, we found out today that our 64,000 RCI points are at a "different" RCI memembership and we can not combine all our points unless we totally convert them over the to RVC membership!! And at a fee!

To make a reservation, I would need to call their RVC number and would still be able to book all RCI reservations, (first looking at the RCI web site or the book) but can not book through the website or take advantage of the "extra vacations" etc. HOW CAN THIS BE???? Our only reason for purchasing another RCI "points" timeshare was to have many points so that we could travel basicly without any money, just using points. I have called the "regular" RCI #, and was told to fax my complaint. We were mislead by the Club Regina sales department who were "new" at the entire RCI thing! This is not a small matter here, because we spent $20K!!! What might your suggestion be for us to be able to get all our RCI points in our "regular" first RCI account? Please HELP!!

muhlbp91,

The timeshare you purchased is part of a special club that offers some benefits through RCI Points. Similar to Hilton, Fairfield or Shell, you must go through Raintree to make your reservations, even if you're redeeming some of your RVC points within RCI Points.

Special clubs provide unique access to RCI's systems and it is not yet possible for club members to make RCI reservations online. Additionally, clubs offer various bonus programs of their own and do not always provide access to RCI's Extra Vacations. However, since you are already an RCI Points member through a different timeshare ownership, you may confirm as many Extra Vacations as you wish.

I'm sorry to hear of all the confusion at the sales table.

It may not help, but upper mangement of Raintree needs to hear your complaint. Have name and email if you want to correspond. E-mail me for name and etc.
