I converted one of my weeks to Club Points for next year. It looks like I am able to make a reservation this year borrowing those Club Points. I even have availability with those Club Points that I don't see with Staroptions.

Does anyone know if Club Point reservations are handled the same way as Staroptions reservations of you have to cancel?

Do Club Points become restricted if you cancel within 60 days of arrival?

if you cacnel w reservation with borrowed Club Points, do they go back to the use year?

I believe there are no costs for reserving/cancelling, right?

The same rules apply. The only difference is you don't need to prepay maintenance fees to borrow points. You can also make a reservation with borrowed points online. StarOptions requires prepayment of fees and calling to make the reservation.

Thanks! I walked through a reservation and indeed it offered that I could borrow the points. I didn't make the reservation because I still need to locate an IV studio at WKORV-N during The Christmas holidays.

Club points reservations cancelled within 60 days of arrival have the points go into a "holding account" where they can only be used for reservations made within 60 days of arrival. Although the terminology is different, it's functionally the same as restricted StarOptions.

I think (but am not certain) that, like StarOptions, if you bank Club Points and move them to a subsequent year, you then cannot use them for a reservation in the current year. So that's sort of an argument for waiting until the last minute to do any banking, but you also have to worry about whether the web site will be working if you wait until the last day. I would advise doing any banking a week or so before your deadline so you have some buffer if things don't work.

Borrowed Club Points go back to their original use year when you cancel, even if they are restricted. It's the same as Vistana.
