I am thinking about going to the Club Casa Dorado SPA and Golf Resort in October or November. I have read all of the reviews but I have some remaining questions. I'd sure appreciate help from anyone who is knowledgeable. If anyone has experience with these resorts, here are my questions.

1) Is this resort indeed attached to the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort? I have read about the Club Casa Dorado BEACH and Golf resort and the Melia resort. It appears that these are different than the Club Casa Dorado SPA and Golf Resort (DOR). I want to be sure I'm going to the one attached to the Hilton that allows guests to use all of the amenities of the Hilton. It appears from the posts and reviews that the SPA resort is the one attached to the Hilton, but I've read so many things, I feel like I'm going cross-eyed. :)

2) The pictures of the Club Casa Dorado Spa and Golf Resort seem to be less elegant than the rooms of the Hilton Hotel. But, many people say that the rooms are the same, they just have a kitchenette. Do the Dorado Spa rooms have marble or granite, too?

3) Also, all that is available for my dates are efficiency rooms. Is this considered a Jr. Suite or is that just a term the hotel uses for its studio rooms? Does the Club Casa Dorado Spa have studio rooms in addition to one and two bedroom units? Would an efficiency/studio room be nice for just two people?

4) Do all of the rooms have views? Is there AC in all of the units?

Many, many thanks!

Kristi,

I went in Sept. '05. It is a beautiful resort and it is in fact attached to the Hilton Resort. The Melia is next door. IMHO this is a nicer resort. The main lobby is built in a hacienda style and really beautiful.

You have the use of the larger resort pool (with food service) and the smaller, quieter TS pool. I traded a one bedroom and an efficiency and received two units back. (I was having difficulty trading for a 2 bedroom.) I called in advance and asked for the rooms to be next to eachother and I also asked for ocean view. I received both without hesitation. We opened the adjoining door and had our 2 bedroom unit. I can't remember exactly what is in the efficiency. It really is like a hotel room. I think there was a microwave and sink and small frige. I remember two beds in that room. The bathrooms are WONDERFUL!!! Lots of granite, glass, large shower and soaking tub. Very upscale. The kitchen in the 1 bedroom is small but worked well. I can not remember if there is an oven. I know there was a frige, stove, sink, dishwasher and various small appliances. There is a round dining table and then a small livingroom. There is also a bathroom in the living area of the 1 bedroom, as well as in the master bedroom.

We loved this resort. The only negative is that it is between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. You must drive or take a cab or bus whenever you leave the resort. There was a resort shuttle that we used once or twice. (We didn't like to be limited to the times of the shuttle.)

I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Thank you, Lisa! Your information was very helpful! I may ask you more questions later.

I appreciate your help!
