All,

As some of you may recall, I'm trying to buy another 4,800 point property and signed paperwork March 6th with ROFR paperwork sent to Hilton on March 7th.

Well.....I can't get any kind of reponse from the closing company -- last contact was March 28th. Funny because they were pretty responsive until recently.

But now, when the paperwork should have been back? It's just bizarre.... I think it's a real long shot to pass ROFR with my purchase price, so maybe HGVC exercised and everyone (except me) has moved on.

I'll let you know if/when I hear something -- and if it is truly dead, I'll post a message with the company name so you can avoid them on future timeshare purchases.

Best,

Greg

It stinks that you aren't getting a response. They are probably not responding due to failure to pass ROFR as you suspect.

Better luck next time.

You can contact HGVC directly to ask if it was even submitted to them.
If they exercized their option, go get your $$ back.

There may be a pulse after all -- closing company resurfaced today and indicated that Hilton is backed up in getting the waivers out -- but told her verbally that my transaction was waived.

I'll be happy when its official and will post the details.

I'm trying to close with great timeshare bargains and it's taking forever. Although escrow required a whole bunch of additional steps that were not necessary IMHO. :wall:

Just to close the loop on this thread -- I did hear back from the closing company and they indicated that Hilton was very backed up on responding to ROFR waivers (although I'm not sure why that means they couldn't respond to MY emails?)

But the ROFR was waived and I will be closing one of these days on a 4,800 I-Drive unit for $4,900.

Thanks for comments above!

Best,

Greg

Make sure you check on the ROFR yourself with Hilton to be sure it was properly done. They've been very aggressive on the platinum weeks, and you got a very good price. I didn't see who your seller was, but there have been several reports of some of the eBay closing agents either failing to perform ROFR (they just the extra time to try and get documents from the poor seller who paid them thousands to liquidate their ownership) or submitting ROFR with fake prices to avoid the seller being in contact with Hilton (who normally advises them that the upfront fee sellers are a scam and not to pay them!)..

Thank you --- I have a copy of the ROFR but will also see if I can independently confirm with Hilton.
